Welcoming Juan Vila to the KLI

We are very happy to welcome our new Visiting Fellow, Juan Vila, to the KLI.

Juan Vila is a Postdoctoral Fellow of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET, 2024–2027) in Argentina. He holds a PhD in Philosophy (University of Buenos Aires) and a Master’s degree in Music, Traditional Arts, and New Technologies (National University of Tres de Febrero). His research focuses on the philosophy of nature, environmental philosophy, and the philosophy of science, with particular interests in the philosophy of quantum physics and the philosophy of biology.

Juan will be a Visiting Fellow at the KLI from May 31 to June 30, 2026.
His KLI project is titled “One of a Kind: Biological, Metaphysical and Ethical Dimensions of Population Thinking” and addresses the following question: What is the conceptual status of biological uniqueness, and how does a clarified account reshape current debates in biology, metaphysics, and environmental ethics?

We wish Juan an inspiring stay at the KLI and in Austria.
